Is METAVERSE really needed to Human Society?

Nowadays technologies are coming up and have changed our lifestyle. The advent of the internet is a boon to human beings. Internet helps us to get information in seconds and in enhancing our knowledge. A newer version of the internet has arrived and it’s called METAVERSE. We assure you that understanding Metaverse will be an easy task.

Meta verse is a digital universe or a virtual world. We can have so many things in the virtual world. We can have our home in the virtual world, entertainment zone in the virtual world etc.… The first implementation of the Metaverse was that because of a video game, a second life developed in the year 2003. Many countries have become digitalized nations. This technology creates a digital realm.

 

                        WHY IS IT NEEDED?

When we all feel that our digital self is more important than our physical self, the starting point of the Metaverse concept is triggered. There is one more need identified by Mark Zuckerberg, when he introduced Meta the new name of Facebook, he said it’s all about the ease of connecting with people. Now you might be thinking that even today we have Google meet, Microsoft teams, hangouts and we all conduct our office meetings on that but the experience will be sometimes poor and this does not give you a feel of sitting in a room together and discussing on a certain topic. Instead of this, visualize an office and its entire meeting in a metaverse. Now, do you agree with me that the 3D meeting in metaverse sounds more fun rather than the video call that everyone has experienced?

Facebook Meta is investing millions of dollars in this project of Metaverse. There are so many more things to be explored in the world of Metaverse.

      

 VARIOUS USE CASES OF METAVERSE

 

The first use case of Metaverse can be for real estate.

For example: If you were to buy a property you would physically go to that place, visit the area, get a feel about how that place is, and then try and decide whether you want it or not; or if you could visit a website which is similar to a matter port wherein you would be able to navigate with the help of your mouse. You would try to see what every room looks like through the 3D view but instead of that, you can wear your smart classes where your avatar enters and goes inside that room and try to get a look and feel of what that room feels like. Now you can decide whether you want to buy that real estate or not. Therefore, metaverse makes complex things like these much easier.

The second one could be travel.

We all like to travel. So, if you want to visit the US, UK, or any other places; the budget is always a constraint, right? But don’t worry, we can visit the places that we want to in our Metaverse through our avatar. It would be an amazing feeling that you are exploring areas at a very cheap cost. So, it could be an amazing way to explore travelling in the Metaverse way.

The third use case can be for education.

Now, we all are learning from the 2D world. But in Metaverse, our avatars interact with each other and share our thoughts. The only exception is that they do not exist in the physical world.

Besides all of these, Metaverse can be used for going to music concerts, shopping for your favorite clothing, playing games, fitness, etcetera.

Justin Bieber, who is a great singer, very recently hosted a live concert in the Metaverse where thousands of people around the world attended this not by themselves. Instead, their avatars attended this concert in Metaverse.

We can also earn money by investing in land in the Metaverse. It will not only allow you to live out your fantasies, but it will also make us more productive. There are multiple numbers of Meta verses and also ideally having potential to become a trillion-dollar economy.

 DISADVANTAGES OF METAVERSE

Every technology has its pros and cons. Similarly, In Metaverse, there are two major risks.

The first one is financial risk. Everyone will not believe that it will be a super hit in future and some might think it’s will be a hit in the coming few years. In Metaverse, you can also buy parcels of land by investing money and renting or selling them. But if someone doesn’t buy it from you for a higher price or if someone doesn’t take it on rent from you then the money is wasted. So, it’s a high risk and high return proposition.

Another dangerous risk is that in Metaverse we can create our avatars. We can choose our skin colour or hair type. And who knows? After some years we might start loving our avatars more than ourselves! Exciting, right? No. if we start loving our avatars way more than we love ourselves, we would always be insecure about our bodies.  For some people, it will be very difficult to get outside the Metaverse and accept that a physical world does exist beyond the Metaverse.

 

Now you guys think that this is already happening or this might be like after 5 or 10 years, this has already started happening. It is a new hope to this digital world. Now the chance is yours. Will you take it?
